About MCSA Guru
MCSA Guru is a practical, no-fluff knowledge base for IT professionals and system administrators. Every guide is written to solve a real problem — the kind of thing you search for at 2 a.m. when a domain controller won't replicate or Outlook keeps asking for a password.
What we cover
We focus on the Microsoft and infrastructure stack that most small and mid-size IT teams run day to day. Our guides are organized into a handful of focused topics:
- Windows Server & Active Directory — Set up and run Windows Server the right way — Active Directory, domain controllers, FSMO roles, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, replication, backups, and server migrations.
- Microsoft 365 & Exchange — Administer Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online — user and license management, shared mailboxes, mail flow, migrations, security, MFA, and Defender for Office 365.
- Microsoft Teams — Deploy and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams — Teams admin center, meetings, Teams Phone, calling policies, guest access, and the fixes for the issues users actually hit.
- Windows 10 & 11 — Fix and optimize Windows 10 and Windows 11 — updates, upgrades, BitLocker and TPM, performance, networking, drivers, recovery, and password and sign-in problems.
- Docker & Containers — Learn Docker from the ground up — installation, Docker Compose, volumes and networking, reverse proxies, image security, and fixes for the most common Docker errors.
- Virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware, VirtualBox) — Run virtual machines with confidence — Hyper-V, VMware ESXi and Workstation, VirtualBox, and WSL2, plus the conflicts, networking, snapshots, and backup issues that trip people up.
- Proxmox VE — Build and run Proxmox VE — installation, VMs and LXC containers, networking and bridges, ZFS and storage, clustering and HA, backups, and migrating from VMware.
How we write
Guides are step-by-step and lab-tested wherever possible. We call out the mistakes people actually make, note version-specific behavior, and link related guides so you can go deeper. We are an independent publication and are not affiliated with Microsoft, Docker, or any other vendor named on the site.
A note on accuracy
Technology changes fast. We keep guides updated, but always test changes in a safe, non-production environment first — especially anything touching Active Directory, mail flow, backups, or storage.
